BIOGRAPHY

Long Pan (b.1991), graduated from the Intermedia Department of China Academy of Art in 2019 (Master). She lives and works in Yichun, China. Long Pan is very interested in the traces of human behavior in the living body, and tries to find clues from the microscopic reality to find a wider connections between things. She often uses organisms such as plants and fungi as her materials. In her recent work, she also uses biotechnologies such as “plant alchemy” and “fungal degradation” as her creative methods. These inhuman and interdisciplinary technologies have become the cornerstone of her art.

Recent exhibitions include: Chengdu Biennale, Tianfu Art Museum, Chengdu, 2021; No blackout (Ming Contemporary Art Museum, Shanghai, 2021); Swaying Silk Threads (Dozens of Contemporary Art Center, Suzhou, 2020); Youth Braised (OCT Contemporary Art Center, Shenzhen, 2020); New species-heredity & variation (Chengdu Library, Sichuan, China, 2019), etc. Recent residency program includes: Stones from Other Mountains-PSA Youth Strategy Project (Power Station of Art, Shanghai, 2021); shortlisted for the China Sustainable Design Award Youth Innovation Award section 2021.
